The Writing Across Borders movie

This movie was really interesting. I’m always interested to hear what people from different countries have to say about language, especially the English language, since it’s such a mucky amalgamation of three languages, with conflicting rules. I never thought about how prepositions are tricky for foreign students. It makes sense when I think about it, because I’m terrible with my prepositions in Spanish, and I can never keep them straight. I also liked hearing about the different essay styles in other countries, like in stating the thesis last in Japan, so that you’ve both stated it and proved it at the end of the essay. It does sound a lot harder, though I think I used to write my essays that way when I was younger.
